Civil Engineering
Civil Engineers are the builders of modern civilization. Engineering is the art of using scientific and mathematical knowledge, experience, and reasoning to design and building structures to serve human needs. Civil engineering is one of the oldest engineering fields. Our program trains engineers who have mathematical and analytical reasoning skills, who are able to plan ahead and to carry out their plans efficiently and effectively, and who can responsibly find solutions to engineering problems.
Our Civil Engineering program has an ambitious curriculum that is informed by global standards in higher education and in our field. This program is aligned with the Bologna Process guidelines and it allows prospectus for civil engineers to specialize and major in any area they choose.
Our students have opportunities to gain and improve their designing and implementation skills in our modern and well-equipped laboratories.
The main characteristics of our program are:
- A project-based approach informed by research,
- An emphasis on bringing together scientific activities and social learning through technical field trips, panels, symposiums, conferences, and seminars,
- An understanding of engineering as an inherently innovative endeavor that requires an open mind,
- A flexible curriculum that allows students to start their professional life one step ahead of others
