Political Science and Public Administration

Political Science and Public Administration is a discipline that helps us understand national and international political, social, and economic developments. This discipline focuses on scientific analysis of political and administrative issues. As a result of fast paced global developments, this discipline has been renewing and improving itself and gaining an increasingly interdisciplinary character. 

Concepts such as power, legitimacy, social class, national entities such as state, government, political parties, international organizations, political thoughts such as political justice, ideologies, liberty, democracy, moral values, and equality are the issues investigated by Political science.

When it comes to Public Administration, processes where public decisions and policies are made and implemented in administrative systems are examined. In this program, students also benefit from well-rounded and interdisciplinary training informed by a variety of disciplines such as sociology; history; anthropology, and philosophy. In this way, the students receive an excellent scientific foundation in the fields of Political Science and Public Administration. 

Political Science and Public Administration find a common focus in public arenas of human societies. Since public policies are made by political powers, public servants cannot ignore the political backdrop. Similarly, because public policies are implemented by public administrators, politicians cannot disregard them.

As such political science and public administration education is essential in raising well-informed, rational, and effective individuals who understand the developments in Thrkey and around the world and who can actively participate in public life.
