Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
Physiotherapists are health professionals who help people suffering from pain or other functional disorders due to injury, illness, or disability. In light of diagnosis by doctors, physiotherapists plan and administer physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs to improve patients' functional capacity and to minimize their functional limitations. In addition, physiotherapists assess the effectiveness of these programs and make modifications when necessary. These autonomous professionals work to restore and maintain their patients' well-being, mobility, and function through scientific procedures such as exercise, massage, and preventative measures. Moreover, our graduates can continue their academic careers by completing their Master's and PhD degrees.
Physiotherapy is a popular profession that is developing day by day in our country as in the world. However, the number of physiotherapists are quite insufficient compared to the number of patients in need of physiotherapy in our country.
Physiotherapists, who are in high demand and have a promising future, can work in as diverse institutions as public and private hospitals, rehabilitation centers, orthotic and prosthetic centers, schools, sports clubs, care centers, occupational rehabilitation centers, spa centers, thermal hotels, disability centers/schools, and fitness centers.
Our program actively conducts scientific research, promotes public health, contributes to knowledge construction in our field, and last but not least trains professionals who
have a well-rounded physiotherapy and rehabilitation education, embrace the ethical values of our profession, are guided by the principle to maintain physical wellbeing, alleviate pain, and reduce movement dysfunction, are inquisitive, research-oriented, participatory, and devoted.
